Poultry supplements and additives

Vitamins, mineral premixes, electrolytes, probiotics and additives from suppliers on Poultrix Hub. Supplements correct a specific gap or support birds through a specific stress — they do not make a poor ration into a good one.

Know what you are correcting before you buy. Supplements have a real place around transport, heat stress, vaccination and recovery, and much less of one as a permanent addition to a complete commercial ration that already contains a premix.

Read the inclusion rate and the mixing instructions. Most supplement failures are dosing failures — a product mixed into more water than the birds drink in a day delivers a fraction of the intended dose.

What to check before you buy

  • Check what is already in your feed

    Complete commercial rations include a vitamin and mineral premix. Adding a second one is usually spending without an effect.

  • Match the product to the stress you are managing

    Electrolytes for heat and transport, probiotics around gut upset, vitamins around vaccination and recovery. A general tonic aimed at nothing in particular tends to achieve it.

  • Mix only what the flock will drink in the period stated

    Medicated or supplemented water left standing loses potency and grows bacteria.

  • Watch for interactions with medication

    Some supplements should not be given alongside certain treatments. Ask your vet where you are doing both.

Common questions

Do birds on commercial feed need extra vitamins?

Usually not as routine — a complete ration already carries a premix. Supplementation earns its place around specific stress events such as transport, heat, vaccination or recovery from illness.

Do electrolytes help in hot weather?

They are widely used to support birds through heat stress, but they do not substitute for the things that actually reduce it: shade, ventilation, cool drinking water and lower stocking density.

Are probiotics worth it?

They are most often used around gut disturbance and after antibiotic courses. As with any additive, judge it against a specific problem you can observe, not as a permanent line in the budget.

Can I pay on delivery?
