Vaccines, treatments, dewormers and disinfectants from veterinary suppliers on Poultrix Hub. Medication is the one category where buying the right product matters less than using it correctly — this page is a supply route, not a substitute for a veterinarian.

Get a diagnosis before you buy a treatment. Several poultry diseases look alike from the doorway, and the wrong drug costs you the money, the withdrawal period and the days during which the real problem carried on spreading.

Vaccines are only as good as their cold chain. A vaccine that has been warm is not a weaker vaccine, it is not a vaccine — ask any supplier how it will be kept cold in transit, and refuse a delivery that arrives at ambient temperature.

What to check before you buy

  • Check the expiry date and the batch number

    Both should be legible on the packaging. A supplier who cannot show you a batch number cannot tell you where the product came from.

  • Ask how the cold chain is maintained

    For vaccines, this is the whole question. Get a clear answer about transport and storage before ordering.

  • Note the withdrawal period before you treat

    Eggs and meat from treated birds cannot be sold during withdrawal. Plan for it, or the treatment costs you the produce as well.

  • Follow the dose on the label, for the full course

    Under-dosing and stopping early are how resistance develops, and resistance is not reversible on your farm.

Can I treat my flock without a veterinarian?

Routine vaccination programmes and disinfection are normal farm work. Diagnosing sick birds and choosing an antibiotic is not — get a qualified animal health professional involved. Guidance on this site is general information and does not replace veterinary advice.

What vaccines do poultry normally need?

How do I know a vaccine has not spoiled?

You often cannot tell by looking, which is exactly why the cold chain has to be documented rather than assumed. Buy from suppliers who can explain their storage and transport.

How is medication delivered?
